〰️ maker of silly cats & matcha bowls

I am Odette, the maker behind ode studio. A Taiwanese Canadian ceramic artist and designer based in Vancouver, Canada. I create cat-inspired mugs, trinkets, matcha bowls, and other silly little creations to brighten your space~ Each ceramic piece is handmade in small batches, making every one unique. 

My cats, Fun and Ro, inspire much of my ceramic work. Lately, I've also been illustrating and turn my designs into silly stickers. Which I illustrate and print at my home studio.

Before starting my small art business, I worked as a designer with a background in communication design from Emily Carr University. I started creating whimsy ceramics to bring a little good vibe into my life, and I hope these silly creations do the same for you. May they bring a smile to your face and a touch of happiness to your space ✨

〰️ Where to find my work

Besides my online shop and art markets, you can also find my work in person at Teaspoons & Co. in Burnaby, BC. I have a rotating stock of cat items, matcha bowls, mugs, worry stones and stickers year round. Check my instagram highlights to see the most recent update. 

〰️ Tools & Materials

Ceramics:
I make and fire my work in small batches at a shared studio in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver. I use a variety of Canada-sourced clays from Plainsman Clays in Alberta. For glazes, I use a mix of studio-made, self-made, and commercially made glazes. All are food-safe and lead-free unless otherwise stated.

Prints:

〰️ Collaboration 

I’m open to collabs with other brands and small businesses! In the past, I’ve designed custom matcha bowls for a local Vancouver matcha brand. As a small batch ceramic artist, my turnaround time is usually 1 to 3 months, with a minimum order of 10 pieces. Personal commissions are currently closed, but I genuinely appreciate everyone who’s shown interest. You're always welcome to suggest ideas via my site's contact form, and I will do my best to make them when I'm able to.
